Journey with Gel Santos Relos down memory lane through her decades of experience on radio and television as news anchor, talk, public service and educational magazine program host. Visit her growing gallery of pictures during her career in broadcasting and beyond. Get to know her family.
Doc Rene and I almost ended our 14-year marriage. But because of God's grace, only by God's grace, we reconciled just before the judge handed down her decision on the annulment case I filed in 1998. We renewed our vows before he went back to the US for his Fellowship training.
I would take short vacation from my radio and television anchoring jobs to visit my husband every quarter in Minnesota. It was during this time that we made the decision that our family should join him so we could have a fresh start in our life together. We have to be together for better or for worse.
And so May 3, 2001 marked the dawn of our new life in America with our children. No one could really prepare you enough for the changes and challenges faced by immigrants in a new country, especially when you have children to take care of.
